Laugh, Play and Enjoy Your Life
Laugh, play and enjoy your life is the content of an inspirational message that I received today from www.EnlightenedMessages.com. Subscribing to such sites and receiving a daily offering is just one of the ways that I keep abundance, love and inspiration at the forefront of my mind. Now it happens that being too serious is a bit of a problem to me and in the past I have worked to be playful.
So just for fun, last night I commenced Ukulele lessons because in July this year the Uke Festival – an International Event is to be held right here in Cairns where I live. Wow, what fun that was, learning to play with around 30 other keen Uke fans. Best play time that I have had in ages and I will be going back for more.
So, laugh, play, and enjoy your life my friends, I highly recommend it.
“When you are seeing the grand scheme,
the bigger picture of it all, you understand that
life is the funnest game you’ll ever get to play!
Seriousness is a disease to your soul.
Your overly serious self wants to be free,
so give yourself permission to have a big belly laugh today.
Let a little more lightness into your heart and drop whatever
weight you’ve been carrying on your shoulders right now.
Just take a glimpse of this infinite path your soul is on
and remember your only job is to enjoy your life.
A relaxed playful heart always serves as the best guide…”

For those of you who would love to join us all here in Cairns for the Ukulele Festival, please get yourself a Uke and take some lessons because there is going to be a Guiness Book of Records attempt made for the largest group of Uke players. What a great time for laughing and playing that is going to be.
The Dinosaur and The Deviant
Today I, the dinosaur, have had a very interesting experience with a deviant that brought me to my knees in laughter. You see I have a laughter coach who rings me on Skype at a set time each day and we have a 5 minute laugh that goes a long way to setting up my day. I know, I know, that is a bit unusual but then personal development is pretty unique.
Anyway, this morning I had decided that when he rang me, I would be in full laughter mode when I answered. He always laughs first and today I was going to change that. Well Skype rings and I get up a nice big laugh and answer it – now there’s the dinosaur bit – without looking to see that it was my coach. So there I am giving my best laugh when I realise that this is all a bit odd and I can see things on the screen that I usually only see in the bathroom!
On a closer check, I had been hit by a sex-cam. Next bit of dinosaur behaviour – never heard of that before. Well, my deviant had arrived and I can only wonder what their reaction was to the dinosaur laughing on the other end of Skype. Off course I hung up and stopped all contact and then my real coach rang.
I can tell you that this experience was very good for my personal development. First of all we laughed like crazy about it and laughter is really good for you for all sorts of reasons. Second, I realised how very detached from the experience I was and that is a great thing. I took the perspective, without having to think about it, that these things happen – they are what they are – of no relevance to me. I laughed and got on with my merry day and so far it has been just great.
Laughter Makes You Feel Good
According to the Law of Attraction, you monitor your feelings on a moment by moment basis and when you are feeling great you can attract into your life those things that you desire. That being the case, the aim is to feel good and there are lots of ways to do that. If you are not already, then it is important to get in touch with how you feel so that you know when something does not feel so good. You can also learn to understand your feelings by doing things that you like and then noticing what it feels like. Now I say these things because not everyone knows what the various feelings feel like or has felt joy recently.
Laughter makes you feel good, it has a beneficial effect on a variety of diseases such as heart disease and high blood pressure and reduces stress. It is just straight up good for you and that is why a whole industry has been created around it. No, I am not talking about the comedy arts, I am talking about laughter workshops and so on that help you learn how to laugh! But you can have your laughter free or at least at a very low cost.
Watch a funny video, read a funny book (free from the library) or play with your kids or dog. Laughter is guaranteed with a bit of play. If all of those fail, then lock up your house and just laugh yourself silly until you are laughing at your self. Doesn’t matter how you get it, a good laugh makes you feel good and when you feel good you are attracting good things into your life.
Sunday Morning Special
Sunday morning is a special time for me – I read the Sunday Mail. This is made more special to me because I do not read, listen to or watch the news because I simply refuse to load up my life with the negativity that is the news. Instead I research things that I am interested in, read books that cause me to question, enjoy time with my family and the gorgeous Miss Elly (our dog) and watch the occasional TV eg Random Acts of Kindness. So Sunday is a day that I celebrate with a paper and what do I read? body+soul, Escape and the cartoons. The cartoons of course give me a laugh, body+soul offers good websites to increase my interest in new and exciting things and I can feed my dreams to travel.
This Sunday morning, body+soul had a great article to makeover your health. And I especially liked point number one “Are you having a good laugh?” Apparently a really good laugh relieves stress and relaxes your muscles. There you go, I knew that Sunday morning was special. That is when I get my laughter fix from the crazy cartoons. The article says that even anticipating a laugh can boost feel good hormones – so basically the whole week is good for me while I anticipate my Sunday morning fest. Recommended action; go to a comedy club, rent a funny movie or get together with friends who make you laugh.
Incidentally point four is to socialise more, so socialising with funny people has you two steps on your way to a big impact on your health. So from now on I might have to declare Sunday morning as sacred, for laughter only. Happiness and pleasure is everything in life.
