Be Inspired, Get Excited and Save Planet Earth
In recent months I have had the opportunity to be inspired by the actions of other’s in Australia or elsewhere in the world. I have found most of what I have been hearing not only inspirational but very exciting. For example I had the privilege recently to hear Scott Borrows talk and to see him walk!!! Now most of you are probably thinking “so what”. Well here is the “so what” – Scott is a quadriplegic who made a decision to do anything he wanted in spite of that. Scott walks, plays gold, scuba dives, skis and so on. Inspirational? – absolutely. But more than that was the excitement that I felt when I saw what is possible if you put your mind to it.
Late last year I heard about a plan by Gary Douglas and Dain Heer, the founders of Access Consciousness, who intend to take 300 people out into the Ocean off California and use their collective mind power to solve the problem of the floating garbage dump. If you have not heard about this problem, let me tell you about it. We have created what is thought to be the world’s largest garbage dump out in the middle of the ocean, stretching from California to Japan and in some places it is nine metres deep. Some refer to it as the plastic continent since it is largely made of PLASTIC!! Washed out into the ocean from where it has been dropped on land. Plastic bottles, bags, lids, chairs – anything at all.
Everyone of us needs to know more about this alarming problem and I invite you to go take a look on You Tube and further your education on this huge plastic garbage dump in the Pacific Ocean.
I then invite you to get excited, just as I have done, by the project that Gary and Dain have got up called Ocean 300. Anyone can be involved in a variety of ways so I encourage you to take personal action on this and exercise your personal development muscle by working on behalf of our wonderful planet. Support Gary and Dain and give this project every chance of success.
If a person who is a quadriplegic can do what Scott Burrows is doing by using his mind power, then surely our collective mind power from across the whole planet can solve this problem that scientists say is unsolvable. Give up? I say never.
Oh, and by the way, my sincere thanks to Scott for his vision and grit and for the inspiration that he is.
How to Become an Entrepreneur
On the topic of becoming and entrepreneur, I am inspired by a number of resources. First is the work of Napoleon Hill, the grandfather of personal development who produced the first handbook for entrepreneurs in 1928. Read almost any personal development works of recent times and you will see the direct link to Think and Grow Rich, the first work of Napoleon Hill. Hill outlines a number of traits that he regards as essential if you wish to succeed. You must have or get desire, faith, knowledge, imagination, organisation, be decisive and persistence. He links these with a number of developmental activities such as taking control of your thoughts, masterminding with other like minded people, tapping into the subconscious mind, learning to use your intuition and getting rid of fear. Anyone looking to become an entrepreneur would do well to access this book and read it over and over.
The second resource that is available is the Internet and a search of entrepreneur or entrepreneurs will yield a host of information and from my reading, much of it excellent. Entrepreneurship is becoming a key platform for educators of all kinds which is hardly surprising given the number of people who are no longer prepared to spend their entire life in a job; know by some as Just Over Broke. Questacon have a lovely page called What is an Entrepreneur to which you could go as a starting point. Entrepreneur has some fantastic resources and even has this page to help you with ideas – it is a great site, just persevere with the advertising. And on Becoming an Entrepreneur you will find lots of practical advice. Give this a try and it might help you to start your entrepreneurial journey.
My favourite ever resource however, is Polaris Media Group, which covers the personal development aspect of being an entrepreneur like magic. These programs are simply the best that you will find and have helped countless people get started on the journey of a lifetime.
Go With the Flow
There are two ways that you can do things in life – go with the flow or go against it. If you go with the flow then what you are choosing to have occur in your life is most likely going to come easier. Well that makes sense I know, however it is very common for people to be going against the flow and not even know that they are or that a flow exists. So what does it mean to go with the flow? Check out this fabulous website for 12 simple tips.
You know how you can get a great idea – you just know that it is perfect for you. It feels right, looks right, sounds right and your intuition is telling you that it is right. So you set to work to make it happen and before you know where you are, it is harder than Ben Hur! Well, idea is right but the execution might not be. Is there an easier way? Is the timing right? Are you in the right space yourself to see the idea through? Maybe you are going against the flow – the natural flow of life and that is why it is so hard. If you are going with the flow, in the right moment and the idea is coming alive easy – fantastic. That is how it is meant to be.
So how do you get yourself into the flow? I have found that first you have to see that it is hard going. All too often people just get caught up in the “I’ll make it happen” which is a great attitude, but what if a small change in yourself might get it happening easier? Once you can see that it is hard, you can start to think about how it might be easier and guess what – you can think it easy. That’s right, you can think it easy! Use your mind power.
Once you decide to think it easy, get your creative juices flowing, new ways are likely to become apparent to you. You could also talk this over with others, what would they do and how would they do it? Idea hasn’t changed but maybe you are. In essence, look for the easy ways to appear, they might be right before your eyes and you can not see for looking. However if you can see, it is much easier to go with the flow of life.
Masterminding in Hawaii
Granted this is a long way to travel to mastermind with the experts in personal development home business; the buzz is worth it and the thought energy is working overtime. No doubt there are those out there who have never met the concept of the mastermind. I take great pleasure in introducing you, in the words of the grandfather of personal development Napoleon Hill, author of “Think and Grow Rich”. And just in case you have decided right now that this is all about money I ask you to think more laterally. Richness, wealth, prosperity mean much much more. Being rich includes in love, friendship, faith and relationships, at least, as well as financially. And why not have it all?
Hill says that the mastermind is “coordination of knowledge and effort, in a spirit of harmony, between two or more people for the attainment of a definite purpose”. So here in Hawaii, I am surrounded by people who are generous in their advice, counsel and personal cooperation so that every one of us has the very best opportunity to prosper in all ways. I always have this opportunity, however here it is laid on in exceptional amounts. Imagine if you will, at any moment being able to talk with like minded people and have access to the magic of collective wisdom – a mastermind. All of those very positive, lateral thinking people giving me assistance, sharing their mind power. Now seriously, that is some personal development program. And it is right here, in Hawaii, supporting me in my personal development home business.
And you can have it too!! Prosper your mind. Oh and Hawaii and all of the fun of the holiday and travel is ok too. Shoe shopping, dining out at a fabulous Chinese Restaurant, lounging by the pool – ahh it is hard to take!!
The Secret – Napoleon Hill’s Version
In 1928, twenty years after he was commissioned by Andrew Carnegie to write a success formula that could be used by the average man, Napoleon Hill published “Think and Grow Rich“. Long before The Secret became known worldwide and influenced another generation of people, Hill, guided by Andrew Carnegie, interviewed 504 of America’s most famous men and produced the great Secret. Hill not only wrote the book which revealed the Secret, but also provided the Plan which together form a blueprint for anyone seeking success; not only financially but also successfully happy.
The book takes you through the 13 steps necessary to overcome all obstacles and achieve all of your ambitions and remember, it was written in the early 1900’s. It is an amazing book, a guiding light and a basic text for any student of personal development. These days, as expected, you can become a member of the Napoleon Hill Foundation and enjoy all of the benefits that the Internet has to offer. I can only imagine their lives if these men had access to the technologies that we have. However the book allows a glimpse of personal development 1928 style.
One of the key principals that Hill outlines is the mastermind which is the capacity to join up with a group of people who have harmonious minds and share your thoughts, thought energy and intelligence for their good and your own. This bringing together of thought energy creates a great bank of energy that is then used towards a specific purpose. According to Hill, this form of cooperative alliance has been the basis of nearly every great fortune. The message is simple, surround yourself with like minds in a harmonious environment, give generously to the mastermind yourself and receive the full benefits. To success and happiness!
