One Second
Spare a thought for those who lose their loved ones as a result of road accidents. I live in Cairns, far north Queensland and we see too many families left in despair as a result of the tragic loss of life on the road. I, like many others wonder what can be done to change this. Take a look at the following message and then visit the website to see what one person is doing. There you can also read the story of one woman, whose life changed in just one second. Think about this – all it takes is just one second.
Just One Second of thought could save a life.
You may never know who’s life you save,
But you will know you haven’t taken one.
Safe drivers are life savers.

Bundanoon Makes a Difference
Seemingly small actions can make an enormous difference as the current decision by the small town of Bundanoon shows. The people of Bundanoon have become outraged by a proposal to tap a water source in that community, truck it to Sydney, bottle the water and sell it back in Bundanoon. Last night they voted in favour of banning bottled water from being sold in their town. Brave move and possibly a world first. Go Bundanoon!
The domino effect is now in action with the NSW Government making a decision to stop buying bottled water. What is the next effect?
Someone must have set this ball rolling, maybe after a discussion with like minded people, the thought energy started to flow and more like minded people became involved. This action serves as a timely reminder that anyone can start a great idea, especially if there is a bit of public outrage around at the time. Hopefully more and more people will see this as an opportunity and do what they can to support this action and also to see that one person or one community can make a difference. Fantastic leadership that the townsfolk of Bundanoon are showing and their decision has hit the networks all over the world.
The Secret – Napoleon Hill’s Version
In 1928, twenty years after he was commissioned by Andrew Carnegie to write a success formula that could be used by the average man, Napoleon Hill published “Think and Grow Rich“. Long before The Secret became known worldwide and influenced another generation of people, Hill, guided by Andrew Carnegie, interviewed 504 of America’s most famous men and produced the great Secret. Hill not only wrote the book which revealed the Secret, but also provided the Plan which together form a blueprint for anyone seeking success; not only financially but also successfully happy.
The book takes you through the 13 steps necessary to overcome all obstacles and achieve all of your ambitions and remember, it was written in the early 1900’s. It is an amazing book, a guiding light and a basic text for any student of personal development. These days, as expected, you can become a member of the Napoleon Hill Foundation and enjoy all of the benefits that the Internet has to offer. I can only imagine their lives if these men had access to the technologies that we have. However the book allows a glimpse of personal development 1928 style.
One of the key principals that Hill outlines is the mastermind which is the capacity to join up with a group of people who have harmonious minds and share your thoughts, thought energy and intelligence for their good and your own. This bringing together of thought energy creates a great bank of energy that is then used towards a specific purpose. According to Hill, this form of cooperative alliance has been the basis of nearly every great fortune. The message is simple, surround yourself with like minds in a harmonious environment, give generously to the mastermind yourself and receive the full benefits. To success and happiness!
Be Generous to Our Fellow Australians
A number of our fellow Australians are suffering through adversity right now – swine flu or floods – and could no doubt use the traditional Aussie helping hand. It does not take much to offer support in various ways although many people believe that the best way to offer help is by donation of money. There is no doubt that money helps when you are in a crisis situation. You do not want to be concerned about where your basics are going to come from. However it is not the only way to help.
Napoleon Hill, writing in the early 1900’s, identified that it is possible to transmit thoughts and energy. This is now a well respected concept with many people applying the transmission of thought energy on a daily basis. Have you ever had a time when you have been thinking constantly about someone and – boom – they ring you? Same thing, happens all of the time.
So if ever there was a time to send some loving, supportive and compassionate thought energy, it is now. Just thinking about the situation in a positive way, putting positivity generously out there for our fellow Australians affected by the floods and swine flu will help. And the good thing about generosity is that under the Law of Reciprocity is is returned, usually multiplied. So go right ahead, send that love and faith via your thoughts, help someone to feel more positive, focus your attention positively on recovery and enjoy the great feeling that you will have.
Congratulations, you have just added to the positive energy of the Universe and our fellow Australians in this time of adversity.
